​Crazy Skewers in Doraville is easily one of my favorite places to eat around Atlanta, and I love coming here as often as I can. ​The Chinese BBQ skewers are incredible, and everything else on the menu (especially the dumplings) is consistently delicious. One pro tip: buy a box of their custom BBQ seasoning to take home! I use it when I grill at home, and it’s a total game-changer. I also love buying their frozen dumplings to steam at home whenever I get a craving. ​Beyond the food, the service is outstanding. The staff are amazingly friendly, warm, and welcoming. I moved to the US from the Netherlands and brought my father here once; they remembered us and always recognize me every time I come back to eat. That kind of personal touch makes the experience even better. ​If you’re looking for authentic, mouthwatering Chinese BBQ and top-tier hospitality, Crazy Skewers is a must-visit!

Hidden Gem!! Best authentic Chinese cuisine in the area by far. My husband and I decided to try this place out after passing thru a couple times and noticing how great it smelled. Since the moment we stepped in the host was super friendly and attentive, even recommended we try the steamed dumplings which were just being handmade in shop and are to die for! We also ordered the beef skewers which have a really nice smoky flavor, and if you like fried rice please do yourself a favor and order the pork belly fried rice, you will thank me later! Definitely will become a regular 🤗✨

There was something burning in the kitchen during the time we went. And the waitress said that the stove was broken. Their skewers were nice though. We ordered a lot of meat skewers, eggplant, fried rice, soup, stir-fried vegetables and more. I like their chili flakes on the table so much - it added so much flavors to the food. Their plates just papers and plastics cutlery. I think the smell of the soup is quite stink and strong. Anyway, the atmoshere and decorations look so nice.

Determined to try all of the Chinese BBQ shops in Metro Atlanta to give you the scoop. If you haven’t tried Chinese skewers yet, known as 串串 chuar / chuanchuan then you are missing out on an entire flavor adventure of bold spices and heat. We are lucky to have so many non-chain versions to try in the area, so I hope you can become an expert by visiting all the options. Everyone knows the best shop, but I need to try them all to give a definitive answer to which one should take the number one spot. I tried: 1️⃣ M10.Double Cooked Pork Slices 锅包肉 $21 - This sauce was not as sour as my favorite place. 2️⃣ C5.Beef Kabob (5 Sticks) 秘制牛肉串(5串) $9 - A little tough, but still tasty and a better value than other places. 3️⃣ C2.Lamb Cabob(5 Sticks) 秘制羊肉串(5串) $9 - same as above. 4️⃣ D8.Fried Peanuts 油炸花生米 $3 - Will skip next time for the price, but would be good if drinking. 5️⃣ D13.Shirataki $15.99 捞拌什锦 - Great balanced cold noodle & veg salad that paired well with the other hot dishes. 6️⃣ M9.Steam Pork Dumpling ( 12 pieces ) 猪肉蒸饺 $12 - Stand out chonky handmade dumplings. Juicy and not oily, made with love. The skin texture was not as toothsome as I usually like, but excellent quality.

The skewers are crazy good, but they also excel at other things on the menu. We ordered so much and were too busy eating to remember to take pictures of everything. Highly recommend the lamb skewers, the chicken wings, and the tofu skin skewers. As a huge fan of Chinese KFC’s “New Orleans-style” wings I have craved this flavor of wings for years, and they do it so well here! Didn’t take long for skewers to start arriving as soon as we ordered. The menu offers such an amazingly wide variety of options. Absolutely love their Malatang (soup) - you’ve got to order it. It does not come in covered in oil as one might suspect Malatang to be. The soup is flavorful and packed with variety of vegetables - lotus roots, enoki mushrooms, woodears, baby bok choys and all the other goodies. Then there’s the $1 each handmade dumplings. Unjustifiably good for the price. So glad we added that to the order! Freshly made-to-order, packed with juicy filling. So juicy that it should be sold as soup dumplings. Better than all the soup dumplings I’ve had in Atlanta so far, and it’s not even advertised as such! The decor reminds me of street food in China. They take care of their customers here. Thoro
